Mini Game

The mini game has caused us some headaches as we look for mistakes. I can not figure out why it does not work when all the codes are correct. When I did this same activity at training, the instructors told us we would get better at the code and recognizing what is wrong. Looking at so many of yours, I have found this to be true. We need to watch using ( for { and so forth. Keep up the good work.

Blogging

I have spent my evening reading blogs and I do not understand why this is so hard. Your blog this week was to deal with the games you played and what you thought about them (both the good and the bad). Your blogs will be graded on content, not just that you blogged. We need to get our thoughts together and write more than one sentence. I expect more next week.

WE ARE MOVING NOW!!

I know it has taken forever but we are all up and rolling now. I am so excited to have everyone on wiki and the work I have seen on your wiki pages. Some of you need to add more to those wiki pages, but for the most part I am pleased with your progress. We should be able to move faster now and I appreciated your patience as we are learning with you. We will be looking at games again this coming week and trying to evaluate the games. Hopefully you will get some ideas of what not to do and what to do with your own game. Keep up the great work. I am looking forward to reading your blogs!!!!!!

Week 3

This is the end of our third week and we have had a very slow start. I appreciate your patience and your help as we have had trouble. This week I am looking forward to you setting up your profile page and your own blogs. I think things will start moving now that we have the email and wiki pages ready to go.

Second Week

This week has been very frustrating for you and for me. Nothing has worked this week and the lab being closed has slowed things down. Welcome to the real world. You will find in life that things go this way. Sometimes we think we have it all figured out and then things don't work they way we want them to work. You have to be persistent and try new ways to get things up and running. I am hoping for a better week. You all have been so patient and excited and I appreciate your being easy to work with so far. Hopefully, we will have a productive week and we will get rolling this week.

First Week

Globaloria started this week for us. We had a snow day and an early out day, so we only had two days together. I am so excited about this class! I loved the excitement and the questions that were asked by everyone as you were introduced to Globaloria. The questions were focused and showed your interest in the class. I am excited to get started and to see your ideas. I am expecting great results and I think if we had the full year to work you could be contenders for the competition. As we start, some activities will not be as thrilling as you want but we have to get the background so we can move on the greater things. We will work together and have a great semester.

Best Game

I worked this evening on the different types of games and which game I think would be best for my game. I like the adventure game because it requires the player to think of strategies to win. So the player will have to do more than have quick reflexes. In an adventure game, a player should be able to get to the goal in more than one way. The player should determine the best way so they earn more points. It is interesting to think of all the different ways a game can be designed to teach the concept I want to cover.
