First Week

Globaloria started this week for us. We had a snow day and an early out day, so we only had two days together. I am so excited about this class! I loved the excitement and the questions that were asked by everyone as you were introduced to Globaloria. The questions were focused and showed your interest in the class. I am excited to get started and to see your ideas. I am expecting great results and I think if we had the full year to work you could be contenders for the competition. As we start, some activities will not be as thrilling as you want but we have to get the background so we can move on the greater things. We will work together and have a great semester.

Best Game

I worked this evening on the different types of games and which game I think would be best for my game. I like the adventure game because it requires the player to think of strategies to win. So the player will have to do more than have quick reflexes. In an adventure game, a player should be able to get to the goal in more than one way. The player should determine the best way so they earn more points. It is interesting to think of all the different ways a game can be designed to teach the concept I want to cover.

Working on my wiki pages

I have spent time trying to upload pictures and then they are blurry with they are on the page. This is all so time consuming and I feel I know just enough to be dangerous.

These is our training for Globaloria. A great group of teachers who are excited to get this process started with their students.

Laura and Carol's Game

Designing a game was not as difficult as the process of putting it on Flash.  Laura and I are on the way but it is mind boggling. It is more difficult to get things to work than what we thought.  We are working and learning together which makes it enjoyable and not so threatening.  I have learned so much and I hope that I do not forget it by January.  I think our students will be excited and great at this new opportunity.

Energy Alternative

I looked at many blogs about energy alternatives.  One would not load in my blog roll but it was very interesting because it was an archive of articles.  There is plenty of information out there.  It will be interesting to have time to read more when I have time.

Training

The training is very imformative, but I feel overwhelmed right now.  We are going fast and it is very frustrating as the computers are not cooperating.  Hopefully, I will be able to remember to teach my students.  It is good to be frustrated as a students so I understand when my students are frustrated when I think they should be on the same page with me in class.
